Sunset Escape

Two families came together for a new chapter — now they have a backyard made for laughter, connection and new traditions.
When these clients approached us, their home was still in its early stages, nestled in a well-established neighborhood. Their story was truly special — two widowers who had found each other and envisioned a new home where their blended family could come together.
They wanted to create an inviting outdoor space where they could relax and connect with their children and grandchildren. On their wish-list were some fun features: an outdoor kitchen with pizza oven — inspired by the owner's time working in Italy — a studio for pottery and crafts, a vegetable garden, a fire pit for cozy gatherings and a bocce court for a little friendly competition. We got to work on all that and more!
For this project, we took the clients' vision and transformed it into a design that was perfect from the very first concept — no revisions needed. Then, with expert craftsmanship and attention to detail, we brought their dream outdoor space to life.
Built during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, the project had its challenges — supply chain issues, inspection delays — but with clear communication and strategic planning, we stayed on track and delivered a stunning, well-crafted retreat that exceeded the clients’ expectations.
In addition to the outdoor kitchen, studio, garden, fire pit and bocce court, we created a spacious paver patio and pavilion — perfect for gathering the whole family. We also installed gas, electrical and water lines throughout the property, planted trees and shrubs for added beauty, shade and privacy, and designed a live water feed for the vegetable garden, making it easy to wash fresh-picked produce right on site.
Our clients have fully embraced their new outdoor retreat. Almost every weekend, they can be found gathering around the pizza oven, sharing meals made with fresh tomatoes from their garden. When they’re not enjoying time with family, you’ll find them in the pottery studio, creating their next masterpiece. But perhaps the greatest moment came when they hosted their daughter’s wedding in their very own backyard. This project wasn’t just about landscaping; it was about creating a space for love, family, and lasting memories.
